Pest Control – Rodent Control & Disinfection
Questions about our pest-control and disinfection services.
Which areas do you cover?
PestXperts provides services across Attica, covering both urban and rural areas. If you’re unsure whether your area is covered, get in touch.
Do you use products that are safe for people and animals?
We use only approved biocidal products, in line with current legislation. Pest- and rodent-control products carry the required authorisation from the Ministry of Rural Development & Food, and disinfectants from EOF where required. Treatments follow the instructions for use, with the necessary precautions. After treatment we give clear instructions on ventilation and re-entry time where required, with particular care for children and pets.
How long does an application take?
It depends on the type and extent of the infestation. Applications usually take from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the size of the space.
Which control methods do you use?
We use combined pest-control methods depending on the species and the extent of the infestation: residual spraying, ULV fogging, insecticidal gels, dusting powders and superheated dry steam for the thermal treatment of bed bugs and dust mites. Treatments are carried out with suitable equipment and, where required, approved products, following their instructions for use.
How often should I have pest control done?
The ideal time for preventive pest control is early spring (April – May) and early autumn (September – October), i.e. twice a year.
After how many days can I clean?
Mopping the floor after the application should be done after 3–4 days.
How much does a pest-control treatment cost?
The cost varies depending on the extent of the infestation, the type of insect, the type of application and the square metres of the space.
I have a baby — is pest control safe?
Yes, pest control can be carried out in homes with babies and young children, by choosing suitable approved products and taking the necessary precautions. Before treatment we assess the specifics of the space and choose the control method. We give clear instructions on preparing the space, ventilation and the safe re-entry time, according to the instructions of the products used.
Biological Cleaning
Questions about our biological-cleaning services.
How often should mattresses be biologically cleaned?
At least once a year, or every 6 months with heavy use or for people with allergies. Cleaning removes dust, mites and allergens.
How often do sofas and fabric seats need cleaning?
Cleaning every 6–12 months is recommended, depending on use and exposure to dust, children or pets.
How often does a carpet or rug need cleaning?
Every 6 months in high-traffic areas, and once a year in less-used spaces.
How do pets affect cleaning frequency?
Pets increase the concentration of dust, hair and germs. In homes with pets, cleaning every 4–6 months is recommended.
Is biological cleaning safe for children and infants?
For biological cleaning we use professional equipment and suitable cleaning products, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Once the process is complete, we give you instructions on drying time and on when the surfaces can safely be used again.
Dry & wet biological cleaning — what’s the difference?
Dry cleaning removes mites, dust and micro-organisms without water, using strong suction and special filters. Wet cleaning starts with dry cleaning, then removes stains with an extraction machine (spraying and vacuuming water/cleaner together).
